With the newest Asus Firmware you can access the Cam on its own Port without Passwort, right. Just set it all in the web interface.

Hi guys,
i am planning to buy a ASUS WL-500g Deluxe and in the future i want to build a home security monitoring system with a one 4-Port USB HUB and two webcams on it...
I know that this router has a two USB ports, but on second port I wants to have USB Flash or USB HDD...
Now what I have is ASUS DC-3120 Webcam and Trust 4-Port USB HUB :-)
Thanx...
should work 500g with more webcams connected throught usb hub to one 500g?
USB 1.1 bandwidth is too low to handle more than one webcam.
i don't think so. there is high compression and small images. ok. 500gx has usb 2.0 ports. will it be possible use more webcams on one 500g(x)?Originally Posted by Oleg
Hi specialists,
Iґm new to this forum, but hopefully searched enough (through this forum) to come up with the following question:
Does anyone have any experience with one of the following USB webcams:
Philips, funcam, DMVC 300k/00
noname, using SPCA561.sys driver
?
So far I was not able to get one of em work with my WL-500g.
If not, How may support for one of those (preferably the Philips one) be 'implemented' into such custom-firmware? Is this possible at all?
hardware used: WL-500g-deluxe with 1940 firmware.
Thanks in advance,
Klaus
Using Oleg's firmware (BIG thanks to oleg for this excellent work!!!) I could get some more information on the Philips camera (at least):
For me it looks as if at least the manufacturer gets recognized (' registered new driver Philips webcam') but the driver is not (yet ?) capable of handling that special type of camerak with the router? Hi
Iґm looking foor a webcam that works with wl-500g usb plug-share. Whatґs the best im your opinion? My Objective is monitor my office.
Another quastion, if I choose a wireless webcam, i will have problems with de wl-500g interface? I can works with a wireless webcam/securitycam via internet without a PC plugged on, only using with the wl-500g webcam Remote Monitor Settings?
Thanks
I have no idea what you exactly mean by wireless camera and the wl500g
if you use a -standalone- wireless IP camera, you don't need the wl500g for the camera functions
