    hello,

one question... i need a mp3 stream (like a webradio) but only on my WLAN without a PC ... it that possible with the Twonkyvision Mediaserver?

    what i need:

    - continuous mp3 stream
    - reduced mp3 quality (like webradio)
    - shuffle playlist from all mp3 files on the hdd (folders with subfolders)
    - hadle up to ~4000 files
(- remote control (to edit the playlist))
    (- adjustable mp3 quality)
(- make the stream reachable in the WAN) (only short times)

    what i have:

    -3 PCs
    -1 Laptop
    -1 Pocket PC
    -1 D-Link WLAN Router
    -1 Allnet Accesspoint

    is that possible???

Basicaly, you can do all this on wl hdd. But you might have performance issue that could spoil the hearing experience. One track is to install madplay on custom firmware. It is available as a package. The other way is to install a debian distro and to use any program available for debian.

About twonkyvision, your problem is to get a upnp client on pc. As far as I ve tested, only nero show time give proper result. But you might find other working and reliable softwares upnp clients.
