Thread: interface question - ata6 okay?

    interface question - ata6 okay?

The specs on the Asus website say it supports ATA-5 drives; however I'd like a larger drive, and many larger ones list ATA-6 as the interface, or even things like ATA100. I'm confused about what to get; I even called Asus and the person I spoke to was unable to answer this question. Can I assume that new drives will be backwards compatible with the WL-HDD?

    Thanks

Yes, new drives are backwards compatible with older ATA standards.
