Unhappy wan side inoperable (out of the blue)

    Hi All

I just bought the WL500G a few days a go.
I managed to set it up. With some issues though, but working in all aspects Wan, Lan and WiFi.

Everything worked fine, until suddenly the wan side of things stopped working out of the blue??
So in short the lan and wifi is still working but nothing is routed out or in through the wan port. (Firewalled or not firewalled)
If I connect my old "IPCop" to my ADSL speedstream modem, everything is great, I then connect the WL500G and load the configuration from when it worked (or setup it up from scratch) and then I have not connection on the wan side, it just states "Disconnected" (This worked a 6 hours ago, and nothing was touched in the period)

Has anyone else had these problems, or should I just send it back and request a new one?

    Thanks

    Peter

i had this same problem, but since 5 minutes ago my problem was solved by requesting a new password for my ADSL account..

my password began with $@.. and the string ($) - sign caused problems to the router.. it regognished it as a shellvariable.

    try:

    conn. type: pptp
    username: user@adsltest
    password: . (one dot)

    wan ip: 10.0.0.150
    subnet: 255.255.255.0
    gateway: 10.0.0.0.138

Well, my connection needs no password. Its not a pppoe dial up account, so that cant be the problem.

I am leaning more towards the fact that the darn thing is broken...

But I had hoped that one of you gurus had a "nice and easy" solution...LOL

    Thanks

    Thanks Royan!

I guess my device is 'truly' broken, cause none of the wan speed modes changes anything for my router, either way it doesnt work on the wan side!!

    Thanks
