an idea for 500g router

i discovered you this web site, a few day ago, and let me say that is really GREAT.

i already tried tha latest firmware wl500g-1.6.5.3-5.trx, and its really great , but i think its missing something on this AP, an aplication to monitor the link, that is, signal noise , etc.
do you think that is possible to do this???

i´ve tried the AP Test software, but im having sme problems,

when i connect in the AP first the client i have on a laptop imeadatly disconnet from AP, (lost signal), and i get no results.

i tried on shel , but when i do the command wl ap 0, the same happens, what im doing wrong??

one more question, what shoul be on the field AP in the AP test Software??

It's a normal behaviour - you have to switch the router to Client mode (wl ap 0) to be able to perform scan. So you need to be connected to router through LAN using cable if you wish to try the APtest utility.
The AP field should allow you to focus to one specific AP if some more APs are visible. Otherwise the first listed AP (random) is recorded into graph.

is it possible to get the firmware, and make it bootable on a PC, then with a wireless card and make an AP from a PC ???????
