    Sharing files, usb harddrive, Windows

    Hello

I have the asus router connected with some computers. Wireless connections are not used. There is a usb harddrive connected to the router. I can access it by ftp. I can also share folders, so i can see a folder of the shared harddisk in Windows vista and open it. But the latter one, i can do i only as a guest. When i program the router (using user list), to access a specific map of the drive, using login and password, my login/password-combination is never accepted.

I'm using vista on this computer.
Anybody knows what i could do wrong?

    Hi,

as far as I know you have to use Samba2 for accessing files from Vista.

Search the forum for "Samba2" and you will find appropriate instructions howto do the installation and setup.

    good luck
