Why must it be a channel above channel 6. I cant see any relation to that in this matter. I have been running channel 4 in over a year now, with no interference.

Also see attachent for other Wireless settings.

I had some problem with wl138g in my setup. After I changed from channel 6 to channel 11 the problem disappeared. Ch 11 works for me!

about channel see msg from tonia it can solve problems

be sure that both AP's have the same SSID, try turning WDS only to HYBRID at both devices
and turn off WEP stuff only TKIP+AES

after doing that at both WL500g's turn them both off and then on
and be sure no cable is connected from WL500g-1 to WL500g-2

I'm running FW 1.8.1.9 as well.
Anything new on this topic? Recently I updated to 1.9.2.7 and then to 1.9.2.7-CR5 (Oleg). But WPA still won't work for the brigde.

Anyone out there with a working setup with two WL-500g as network bridges and activated WPA encryption? Maybe you cound post your settings here, so I can copy them and try them? Until now I was not able to find anyone.

    Thank you

    Yes, mine is working 100%:

2 x wl500g bridged with WPA-PSK TKIP. Hidden SSID, MAC filtering.

Check out my first post in this thread, it pretty much describes the setup. Laptop mostly on WiFi with router#1, and one stationary PC connected WiFi to router#2 with wl-138g.

On "Interface menu", I'm using "54g only" and "54g protection"

On "Bridge menu": Hybrid, same channel. "Connect to AP in remote bridge list", where each other router's MAC adress is added.

On "Advanced menu" I've set "Extended mode" to "AP or WDS".

Make sure you use same channel and same SSID on both routers!!!

I'm using 1.8.1.7-CR2a on both routers. I might move on to FW 1.9.2.7-CR5a tomorrow, but so far: why change a winning team.

Switch off routers for 10 minutes after firmware upgrade/downgrade.
