try tftp instead.
Hi... I have just bought this router and tried to upgrade the firmware according to 'WL700gE Firmware update 1.0.4.6_kc_02a-1.pdf'. The upgrade did not work as you can on the attached screen copy...
... but this is not my problem (or not my biggest). After pluggin in the cord the hdd stopped responding, it does not spin up at all, and only the blue ready light is blinking, but the router does not work at all.
Do you have any idea what could I do? I tried to push all the buttons for many seconds and many times, alone and together as well. Nothing worked...
Any ideas?
try tftp instead.
as I mentioned, not the firmware upgrade is my biggest problem now... the router seems to be dead. Any ideas?
firmware crash may result harddisk not spin at startup.
tftp the firmware into the box could recover it.
search around the forum you will get more idea.
my problem is that I can't even ping my router... it does not respond to it. Do you think I could tftp the .nas file in this case as well?
keep holding the reset for 20 sec until you see the ping response from 192.168.1.1.
that doesn't help either
only the ready blue light is blinking
Sorry to heard about that.
Similar to your case it help on my brick by pressing reset[~20sec] until the ping echo from 192.168.1.1.
God bless you(r brick).
try this:
plug the router out, wait 20-30 sec, plug in and then try to press the ez-setup button until the 5th time the ready led blinks (then unpress the ez-setup button immediately) and then tftp the 1.0.4.2 trx file as like there is written.

then install the nas file (1.0.4.2) with the firmware restoration tool.
maybe that works
