and yes the download master still uses rtorrent to download torrents, still rather slow than normal... BUT faster than the wl-500 series.

disk speeds I tested so far with a 6GB SD card (with 20/15 mb/s speeds)
all under windows 7 64bit final version, ftp and samba didn't differ in speed... ftp was usually worse than samba.

    more pics and stuff: http://wpte.kicks-ass.net/news.php?readmore=13

QoS should be turned off because it just kills your speed on anything...
to make it "off" just don't use it, completely empty all settings... kinda fail from asus

Can someone measure the actual power consumption of the RTN16?

I am interested in how much more it consumes than a wl500gp. The wl500gp consumes about 7 watt...

    Nearly the same ~10W

    ,20mb/s        154kb/s
    EXT4
    [not working]
    NTFS              ~4mb/s          400kb/s
    FAT32            440kb
    /s          330kb/
    quite poor results

anyway... the QoS seems limiting my internet now and then, like 3mbit instead of 12mbit

edit: seems to be the qos also works for LAN and killing the sd speeds...
    NTFS is 6mb 6mb now!

I just ordered mine through Newegg for $99USD shipped (they sold out within 24 hours of having them!).

    Could you please do a
    Code:
    cat /proc/cpuinfo
    plz?

    also perhaps a
    Code:
    wl bands
    and
    Code:
    wl status

First thing I do when I get it is flash with DD-WRT mini-asus.trx (2.4 kernal) and backup the CFE to send to the devs.

I'm so glad it has a JTAG on it!

I can confirm the suspicion on the chinese forums: http://neture.homeip.net/digiland/vi...php?id=882&p=1
they probably gave the cpu a different tag... since the bord looks exactly the same as on the pictures in post 1, as far as I could see trough the holes.
which means there is no extra chip for usb, so it must be a BCM4718... unless I overlooked the via chip

Awesome, now if only you could post a CFE backup dump :

    Code:
    dd if=/dev/mtd/0 of=/tmp/cfe.bin

now that doesn't seem to work on standard asus firmware!

Has anyone that's received one of these routers tried to upload DD-WRT mini-asus.trx through the FW restoration Utility? This will allow you to run a Busybox shell so we can get more info for the dev's...

Hell, I tink OpenWRT has the 2.6 kernel FW's for this unit..?

Command, your provided, fails due to devfs replaced with udev in 2.6, correct one should like:
    Code:
    dd if=/dev/mtd0 of=/tmp/cfe.bin
btw., CFE sources is available, RT-N16 CFE useless on other routers since it is MIPS32r2, why you need it?

    neither works for me lly

I'm just using the Main_AdmStatus_Content.asp page to execute commands
and I'm not going to upload any other firmware than oleg... especially not when there are no positive results out there for this router.

I'm not trying to make you rush lly, just keep on going

Sorry, I forgot that original firmware doesn't has "dd" command. Just use
    Code:
    cat /dev/mtd0 >/tmp/cfe.bin
Anyway, I has this image already

btw., Some people who can't want wait our release, opens telnet in original FW - RT-N16 + telnet (automatic translate from Russian)

    just want to note something...
samba uses about 10% cpu per megabyte per second
and right now it's only using 10%... kinda under optimized imo

lly, is there going to be EXT4 support? the faster, safer format?
