Not certain in I understood correctly, but here's an attempt to answer question 3.
I haven't found/heard anything about quotas on the ftp server in the Asus router. The ftp daemon used is...
I had the same problem with my Laserjet 6L printer.
Upgraded firmware to 1.7.5.6-2 and Olegs raw printerdriver, and all my printing problems went away.
Check out this thread:...
Ok.
Thanks
Royan
Yeah, I've later figured that that probably was the problem...
Is there any way for a linux newbie (namely me :) ) to control what is logged and what is not in order to keep the log from getting too...
This has happened to me with 1.7.5.6-2 as well.
Only with me the router stopped responding during a portscan from grc.com.
I could still access the internet, but the router itself didn't respond...
Ok...
really stupid question, but it has to be asked. ;)
Did you set the "Enable FTP Server" to "yes" in the USB Application/FTP Server page?
Royan
Check out Antiloop's guide to setup working wlan, and if that doesn't help, see this thread for a few issues.

I have a Dell 8600 with centrino as well. I think I have the same Intel Pro Wireless LAN 2100 3B mini pci card in my laptop.
When I first set up wireless networking from the asus router, I couldnt...
Hmm....
Mine wasn't more than 1.5 - 2 meg....
But I guess I'll find out if the problem is gone now...
Royan
ah...
Ok thanks alot, I'll do just that... :)
(I'll kill those portscanning scriptkiddies... )

Hi
A couple of my users have complained of dropped connections since I installed 1.7.5.6-2.
One user said that their ftp client (smart ftp) has speed drops approx. every 3 minutes, and then...
ah.. ok, thats what you ment... :)
I figured that port 21 would be closed by disabling the ftp.
I didn't know that port 22 couldn't be closed yet, but it doesn't matter... I want to keep both of...
According to the portcheck at grc.com, both port 21 and 22 are open... ?
I know that port 21 is open, since i have an ftp server on it (Asus-usbdisk), and 22 is accessible as well....
Another thing...
Yeah... I figured...
I've just never had a router with open ports before... :)

No confusion intended... :)
It was just an observation on my behalf, and maybe a warning to others who had their wan port die using the 100full command.
Anyway the spec on the uk.asus.com site...
I tried the (usr/sbin/et -i eth1 speed 100full) command on my wl-500g connected to a D_Link DI-604, and the Asus Wan port died...
I had to set it to (usr/sbin/et -i eth1 speed 10full) before it...
try the following url:
http://192.162.1.1/Advanced_PortMapping_Content.asp
don't know if it will help or not, but it might be worth a try...

yeah.. you're right...
Isn't the asus controlled by linux 2.4?
I think I've seen somewhere that the linux 2.4 kernel contains QoS... but it's probably not in the "asus kernel"... at least not...
The main reason that I'm asking for bandwidth throttling of the ftp "server" is that I'm contemplating getting IP telephony, and I really don't want the ftp server blocking the telephone whenever...
I found the source of the stupid-ftpd at sourceforge and downloaded it...
I couldn't find anything relating to bandwidth throttling in the ini or config files, but that really doesn't mean much.....
