Ну так почему бы и не работать, если процессор и свич у них одинаковы (BCM4718/BCM53115),
только памяти и флэша у него чуток поменьше (64/8 MB), чем в Asus RT-N16 (128/32 MB) ... ;)

т.к. web-интерфейс маршрутизатора требует прошивку с расширением .chk.
- 3. После скачивания прошивки, указываем ее в разделе "Обновление маршрутизатора" и жмем "Загрузить".
- 4. Теперь просто ждем и ничего не делаем (не трогаем провода и не перезагружаем устройство).
- 5. После прошивки, повторно заходим по адресу http://192.168.1.1 и задаем имя пользователя и пароль для доступа к интерфейсу.
- 6. После успешной перепрошивки на предварительную версию, переходим в раздел Administration -> Firmware Upgrade
и выбираем уже выбранный образ из предоставленных на сайте с расширением .bin.
- 7. Наслаждаемся результатом. Однако при всех новых функциональных возможностях, альтернативные прошивки
обычно работают медленнее, чем оригинальные (http://www.myopenrouter.com/forum/th...mwares/?page=1).
P.S. Из-под этой специальной прошивки (п.2) можно прошиться на прошивку Tomato, если переименовать файл в .bin.
Чтобы откатиться к оригинальной прошивке, надо сделать:
- 1) В консоли
- 2) Установить на компьютере адрес из подсети 192.168.1.1/24 (например 192.168.1.2)
- 3) Переименовать файл прошивки в code.chk
- 4) Выполнить команду

WNR3500L Firmware Upgrade Using Serial Console
The firmware can be updates using one of two methods; you can either use the serial console or the GUI.
First, we'll describe the method for the former, using the cable you just created.
The steps to flash the router using serial interface are as follows:
(One can use minicom, PuTTY or other similar utility for this, I have used minicom.)
- Connect the serial end of the cable to the serial header of your board and USB end to your host PC.
- Make sure the putty/minicom windows is in front.
- Power on the board.
- As soon as you power on the board, you have to hit control-C to enter the CFE prompt.
- You may have to hit it a couple of times.
If you are successful you will see this message :

Serial Port Connection to Access the WNR3500L
Setting up a Serial Port Connection to Access the WNR3500L Board:
If you're going to be working with your router a lot, or especially working with multiple routers,
it's convenient to have an externally accessible serial port. However, you should remember that
soldering third-party circuits to your router's mainboard voids the warranty, and if you make
a mistake, you can cause permanent damage to your router. Proceed at your own risk.
Items Needed:
An FTDI 3.3V USB-to TTL serial cable (TTL-232R-3V3)-1.8 m
diagonal cutting pliers (optional).
needlenose pliers (optional).
Installation:
WNR3500L comes with an inbuilt serial cable header.
You just need to open your router box to see it.
It has been shown in the figure below:

The USB-Serial cable initially looks as follows:
As all pins on the serial end of the cable are not useful ( We need only three pins) we need to open
the serial end of the cable and separate three pins that are useful to us from the rest of the pins.
These pins are :
- Pin 1 (GND pin): Black coloured , it is connected to pin 6 of serial header.
- Pin 4 (Tx pin) : Orange coloured , it is connected to pin 2 of serial header.
- Pin 5 (Rx Pin) : Yellow coloured , it is connected to pin 5 of serial header.
The figures given below show the USB-Serial cable after the above mentioned
modification and how it is connected to the serial header of WNR3500L.
