Much appreciated if anyone could tell how to clone the internal disk with this white brick or other linux box?

My problem is the 700g refuses to let me mirror the internal 250G to my 200G disk. So I would like to do a swapping exercise by cloning the 250G to 200G and put 200G inside the white brick. Afterward I can create a 200G mirror.

Any other suggest always welcome.

Cheers,
May:rolleyes:

This will be difficult to do since your target disk is smaller than your source disk. You won't be able to simply 'dd' one disk to another. You'll have to 'dd' the first two partitions then create a new reiserfs on the 3rd partition and tar/untar from one to the other. Very complicated and probably won't work anyway... ;-)

I'd strongly recommend just buying a new HDD that's bigger than the one that's inside!

But I have no idea on dd the first two partitions out from the internal disk. Coz fdisk give invalid partition table at all. :(

thanks KC. I had build my 200G inside the brick.
