Hi,
Just installed my wl-500g and i'm having problems installing my brother hl-1250 printer.
I'm running firmware version 1.8.1.9 .
The printer is attached via a parallel cable.
I added a port IP_192.168.1.1 , protocol LPR , queue name "LPRServer" , lpr bytecounting unselected, snmp unsected. And installed the printer to use that port.
I even tried the asus utility from the site ( not the version from the cd) but it won't work :( . It tries to print and after a while it gives an error printing.
If i look at the router status it shows the printer is online.
Tried on 2 pc's , both windows XP pro SP2
Any idea's ?
One more question. I bought an asus WL-107G card (using newest driver) to go along with the router but the range is terrably dissapointing. A few meters away from the router the signal is very low already, and the connection drops. I already tried a few different radio strengths ( now at 83) but that doesn't seem to help. If i use wep it get's even worse.
At first i thought it was the card but it does find an netgear router from one of my neighbours trough my entire house , but it won't find the asus a few meters away from it. So i guess i can rule the network card out.
I tried moving it to a different place but that didn't help either.
Any idea's on this one ?
