WIFI works, but no internet or network connection can be made? Help!

I have the router for a little more than a week now :cool: Yesterday I tried wireless for the first time. I had looked up some information for the setup.
However on my laptop there is only XP with sp1 installed, therefor there is no automatic wifi connection possible. I managed to get the wifi connection going but..... :rolleyes:
I cannot get connected to my PC, which is connected by LAN? :confused:
I also cannot connect my laptop to the internet. (PC<-> I'net works fine)? :confused:
What do I do wrong? do I have to change something to the router, or to my laptop, or both? :o

Read the manual supplied on the CD with the router and wifi card
Check your firewall settings (The WXp one and any other you may have installed)
Check IP / subnet mask on your laptop / PC
To connect to your PC you may try to type the IP adress of your PC in the Explorer adress line on your laptop. (probably something like http://192.168.1.2)
Make sure sharing is enabled on both laptop and PC

* Firmware version of the wl500g
* which wireless card are u using
* which encryption are u using
* which driver version
* do you get an IP at all?
* have you confirmed your key is the correct key ?

I'm sorry guys, thank you for your time, but i'm in no need of assistance any more. :o Somehow, my notebook has a connection with the internet suddenly. :confused:
It seems that I had correct installed the network. Thats why I didn't understand the fact that it wasn't running the first time. :rolleyes: And thats why I had asked here for help. But probably a good night sleep did the equipment do well. :D
