Can't upload any firmware

Hello to you all.

Just got to know all the amazing possibilities this WL500 has (someone guided me to this site).

I have a really big problem.

I tried, for starters, to upload an official ASUS Firmware to my WL500b.

While using the Web interface, I got a "Upload Failed - Incorrect Firmware Version" message.

As I read more about it, I tried manually get my WL to start in recovery mode and tried the ASUS recovery tool. Got the same kind of message (Firmware incorrect).

I tried with both the 1.8.1.9 and 1.6.5.3 (oldest on ASUS site).

My HW details are:

Product ID: WL500
Firmware Version: 1.5.2.4
Hardware version: 1.91
Bootloader version: 11.1

Any ideas?

BTW, my web interface looks a lot different than the one from the user manual...

well in fact you don't have a problem..

to disappoint you, you own a WL500 which is not the same as a WL500b
and is not firmware compatible.

afaik the WL500 is based on intel chipset or something and is not(???) linux based

if it's out of warranty you could break seal(if it has one) and try making some inside pics of it and publish it here

you can also mail (high res photo's) them to forum@chupa.nl (max 10mb per message)

idd.. you could also wait if you have the time for the wl500gx to come out..
