View Full Version : [P2P] "Bearshare" does not work! Why?
I want to use 'bearshare' as my p2p program.
However, the program does not seems to get a connection with the outside world  . Please can somebody give me solution for this problem? Currently I have the following firmware: 1.7.5.9-2
have you tried port forwarding and stuff like that?
Can you explain how? I'm no really familiar with the WL500g yet :o .
I know that bearshare listens to a certain port 69....something (I have to look that up again) for incoming traffic. Do I have to set the router to this port? and how must I do that?

for examples search for the emule forwarding topic (in howto forum) and read the faq/docs of that bearshare program

I have used bearshare tons of times, no special config needed @WL500g side to have it operating well.
There must be something else the problem (e.g. software firewall...)
You could open tthe gnuzilla port (6346) and forward it to your machine, but it is not really necessary (just makes it easier for others to DL from you).
