After speaking with Asus today (Feb 26th, 2007), they said they are not producing the WL-HDD for six months and are unsure if they will continue after that.
Is there any way to compile Oleg's firmware to work on either the Dlink DSM-G600 or the SMC SMCWAPS-G models? I prefer units that have a built in HDD capability and these are 2 that do have this. I'm not interested in the WL-700GE as the price is high and the hard drive is included and much larger than what I need. I'd like to have a unit that I can add my own, smaller drive.
Unfortunately, these are not broadcom based. The Dlink is i386 and the SMC is PPC. I'm interested in flashing Oleg's firmware to one of these units and I'm willing to pay up to $250 for Oleg source that I can compile and flash that acts just like the WL-HDD.
Does anyone know if this is even possible?
Thanks,
