Scan for wlan APs

How can I scan for other WLAN APs around? Is this possible with wl500g? Which soft will help me? It would be good to see whcih stations are sending on which channel, some signal level would be nice too.

Check out Kismet.

[Technik]

Switch to Client mode and then use:
wl scan
wl scanresults
