Yes, I know ... but I thought it was feasible.
I knew it would be slow, but I figured if equivalent scripts on my 2GHz PC took 1 minute per minute of video (which they do), then on a 200 MHz Asus it should take 10 minutes per minute of recording, ie the Asus could process 2 hours or so of recordings every day.
But the whole process eems disproportionately slow, perhaps 500 times slower than my PC.
I don't quite understand the reason for this massive slowdown. I don't think it is swapping, and the mencoder seems to be using 100% of CPU, so I would still only expect it to be 10 x slower. Does anyone have any ideas ...?
