I've just taken a look at the /etc/passwd file on my WL500g, and beside the normal 'admin', and my other user login, there's a third user entry:

nobody:x:99:99:nobody:/:/sbin/nologin

Is this normal, or cause for concern? I'm absolutely certain that I didn't create that user.

Can someone maybe just check thier /etc/passwd file? Just let me now if you also have that user ID. That would already be quite helpful.

This is normal. It's used by internal daemon (dns proxy/dhcp server), to avoid using any priveleges.

Thanks, I was concerned, because I've a lot of failed login attempts to my WL500 from HongKong over the last weeks. Somebody is apparently running a bot that's trying to get access.
