Antiloop! routing with wl-500g

gday everyone, im having problems routing my cable with the wl-500g
ive updated the firmware to 1.8.1.3 and i can see in the logs that it connects to the cable account.
it just wont route to the other computers
i have a centrino laptop and a wired computer. i turned off the firewalls, setup the dhcp...(it assigns ip's fine)
im really stumped
if you are using this router, let me know if you had any problems.

anyway what kind modem are you using ?

can you ping 194.134.5.5 for example?
is your wl500g pingable (turn on icmp thing in websetup first) from WAN side?

sorry antiloop i should have specified that i can ping it, and it is working as an AP fine. In status section i can see that it logs on with my cable modem.
the problem seems to be with the routing part of it.

and the modem is a motorola surfboard, a new one.
