Hi,
I have configured my WL-HDD as AP, set some security (WPA, TKIP) and did so with the notebook too. The notebook gets connected to WL-HDD properly but ir does not receive an IP.
My WL-HDD uses a static IP (192.168.178.5) and is wired with a Fritz!Box DSL router which acts as DHCP server. What I see when I telnet to the fritz!box is the following:
Sep 15 20:04:39 multid[357]: DHCPD: lan: ACK(192.168.178.23)
Sep 15 20:04:47 multid[357]: DHCPD: lan: ACK(192.168.178.23)
Sep 15 20:05:17 multid[357]: DHCPD: lan: arpping test (192.168.178.23)
Sep 15 20:05:18 multid[357]: DHCPD: lan: 192.168.178.23 is free
Sep 15 20:05:18 multid[357]: DHCPD: lan: OFFER(192.168.178.23)
Sep 15 20:05:32 multid[357]: DHCPD: lan: arpping test (192.168.178.23)
Sep 15 20:05:33 multid[357]: DHCPD: lan: 192.168.178.23 is free
Sep 15 20:05:33 multid[357]: DHCPD: lan: OFFER(192.168.178.23)
Sep 15 20:06:05 multid[357]: DHCPD: lan: arpping test (192.168.178.23)
Sep 15 20:06:06 multid[357]: DHCPD: lan: 192.168.178.23 is free
Sep 15 20:06:06 multid[357]: DHCPD: lan: OFFER(192.168.178.23)
Sep 15 20:06:09 multid[357]: DHCPD: lan: arpping test (192.168.178.23)
Sep 15 20:06:10 multid[357]: DHCPD: lan: 192.168.178.23 is free
Sep 15 20:06:10 multid[357]: DHCPD: lan: OFFER(192.168.178.23)
and it goes on and on and on...
obviously the WL-HDD forwards the DHCP request from my notebook the the fritz!box but does net return the result.
Do you have any suggestions what needs to be changed?
Thanks,
Marco
Edit: Ok, just found it myself (after trying two days..). I was nearly out of range so when the router returned the IP the notebook was just disconnected again. I just walked downstairs with the notebook and see, there's a valid IP :)
