Hello everybody.
Since my WL-HDD is running now for 2 weeks with the latest OLEG and only few features are missing I wonder if some things are usual and OK the way I experienced them. Or is it just because I'm not really used to Linux :D
First thing I ran into errors the first days was that the mounting of the internal hdd in "post-boot" never worked for me - I have to do it in post-mount! And in post-mount I had to use the "trick" with "mount -obind /tmp/harddisk/opt /opt", because in the "ASUS Firmware Formatting" I only chose one big partition ...
Another thing I still have trouble with is that the wonderful wshaper and IPTABLE Docs all seem to refer to the WL-500g. So I get errors as the WL-HDD doesn't have a WAN Interface (the $1 and $4 stuff...). My WL-HDD is behind a router. And if I want to secure my ftp service with IPTABLES I can't define rules for WAN (3 logontries within a minute, then wait 5 mins) and for LAN (always connect).
Does anybody have iptable script for the wlhdd to secure ftp against brute-force attacs from outside ip ranges? (iptables are not easy to understand for a windows user :( )
Or is it just because I'm too stupid??
Thanks for some hints!
