This may seemed out of place, but i wonder if you could help me.
I've got a desktop based on a Asus motherboard (A7v) running an amd processor, connected to a cabel modem and a wl500g wireless router.
10 minutes after i switched off the computer, the mouse, the power and harddrive leds flickers 5 times.
I wonder what's happening? Is it a virus trying to send any information? i've got a firewall and anti-virus software.
Any help is most welcome.
Best Regards

yes indeed

but nevermind :)
i'm thinking of a new domain.. which involve particulair asus products..

but to the point i have to say, i have never heard of something like this

btw what do you mean by Mouse led or do you have an optical mouse ?

the only thing I regret to have to say is that this is the worst motherboard i have ever seen and used (note my asus collection at my signature, that was the last asus motherboard i've used and returned since)

but try a few things to locate the possible error:
* remove all the pci-cards you can to have a basic functioning system (e.g. only a VGA card), if the problem goes away put card by card back into the system the problem should show up when re-inserting a specific card
* remove the cmos battery, make sure the powersupply is not connected
wait 30 seconds, and place it back and connect your pc again
re-enter your needed cmos settings again in the bios.
* replace your Powersupply
* *sarcastic* throw it away, buy a new one :p
* check your capacitors if they are blow up, or look thicker than normal. replace them or RMA the board for replacement to a revised one. (e.g. when you have brands like Tayeh, Chssi, Lelon and some others i forgot for the capacitors they are almost 99% sure the problem)
