Hi there,

I cannot figure out how to get FTP working with my router (wl500g).
I have a cable modem that is connected to my router. On my PC runs a simple FTP server. The router gives me an IP number (192.168.1.2). When I open a FTP session to my local IP address I get connected. But when I open a FTP session with the extern (WAN) IP address I get "connection lost by extern host" after some time. I have enabled the Virtual Server (NAT settings) in the Router. But I still cannot get connected, I think I have to set a specific item in the router. Can somebody help me PLEASE. I have tried to connect the cable modem directly to my PC and start up a FTP session, all that works fine. I will attach my configurations of my router. I hope te hear soon from somebody. Thanks anyway. My PC OS is WinXP

Are you using 1.7.5.9 CR1? it seems there is an ftp and webcam error it this version. Oleg will fix it in the next version.

FTP will never work in this way from the LAN side unless you use real proxy.

Thanks for your replies,

But what can you guys advice me to do? I have tried the older firmware releases and also with those releases I can get connected with my FTP Server. I use firmware version 1.7.5.9 (not CR1). Do I have to wait on Olegs' CR2 to get FTP working. I have also tried to connected to my FTP server from another PC (so not from internal LAN(oleg)), but it seems that I still get the same behaviour. Does anybody else have this problem (or am I the only one?). How can I be the only one with this problem? What can I do? I have also tried to use telnet, but also there I get no connection with my PC if I try to connect with a another PC from outside my LAN (yes, I have started the TELNET service on my machine). Why does my router blocks all incomming requests on the other ports? I have also enabled the webserver and that also does not seems to work (strange?). I hope to hear from somebody.... Thanks guys.
