Hello

I recently did the firmware upgrade to olegs custom firmware WLHDD-1.9.2.7-7c (Very nice features btw.). In the latest asus firmware 1.2.3.9 there is an option "become an ap if no ap can be connected". But I couldn't figure out how to do that in oleg's custom firmware.

To explain my settings and what I'd like to do:
Normally I want to have the wl-hdd in my home netword as wireless client (that works fine with oleg's, configured as station). But if I take the wl-hdd out of the range of my wireless router, I want the wl-hdd to become the ap automaticaly (and it would be very nice if the wl-hdd would start the dhcp server automatically).

Now I don't know if it is possible with oleg's and if, what settings I have to use to. So has anyone of you an advice?

Thank you very much in advance.

Lorenz

Hi lolle, Did you find how to do this with Oleg's firmware 1.9.2.7-7c. If so could you please share the information on how you did this.

I was able to do this with Asus stock firmware 1.2.3.9 with the option "become an ap if no ap can be connected"

I was able to connect wireless, as a client while at home and when I am out of range/home, the wl-hdd became an AP automatically and could connect to it using my wifi enabled PDA.
After flashing Oleg's firmware 1.9.2.7-7c I am not able to do this.

Would appreciate if anyone can let me know the setup to do this. Please help

Shin

No, I'm sorry, I couldn't figure out a solution yet. At the moment I just change the setting in advanced -> extended mode to "AP or WDS" when I'm out of range of my home router. Sure this is a work-around, but it is not too much work because your interface settings (ssid etc) for both, station and ap.

greats.

Are there any news on this ?

I'd be interested in having this feature with Oleg's great firmware, too!
