Hi
I'm new to this forum so bear with me. :D
I have one wl500g (no deluxe), I talked my friend into buying the exact same unit. He want's to use his as a print server, among other things. I had a hard time getting his HP Officejet 5510 (usb allinone unit) print via the Asus router. (Upgraded to Olegs 1.9.2.7-7c, followed his superb printing how-to, but still printer doesn't react when printing [both xp/2000 OS, all firewalls etc off]). Eventually i found a tips (in this excellent forum!) about using LPR instead of RAW, and put "LPRServer" under queuename.
Now it works flawless.
But.. my friend has another printer, an old IBM 4019 laserprinter (they don't make them like this anymore), with a parallellport connector. Since it look like the HP Officejet only print with the LPR protocol, will this make it impossible to use the laserprinter also ? I know the how-to specifies "9101 for LPT printer or 9100 for USB one", but that's for RAW only isn't it.. ?
I will look more into it tomorrow (hey, what are holidays for.. ;), have to pick up the IBM at my friends house.
Any thoughts/advice in the meantime ?
