Hello out there!
I have some curious probs with my wl-500gx.
When I played around with dnsmaq suddenly the router reboots and I can't reach it anymore.
I thought no prob, push reset an all is OK, but it wasn't.
OK, then flash it, and all is fine (I thoght), but it wasn't.
To find out the IP, I started Etheral and I getting following results:
Port 1-4:
sending out "spanning tree for bridges" with IP 192.168.1.1
with some firmwares there are also ARP requests from 192.168.1.1 "who is 192.168.1.1?"
WAN:
DHCP Request
In Recovery mode it has the IP 192.168.50.49 and sending out ARP "who is 192.168.50.49?"
Looking a bit deeper in the sended packages, I saw that in the Ethernet II part the IP is 192.168.1.1 but in IP 192.168.50.49
I tryed different Firmwares (including nvram-clear & restore, Asus, old, new,...) but nothing helps, I can't connect (no ping, ssh, telnet, http).
I tryed to assign a IP on the WAN port, that works, but I cant ping it.
The Firmware Upgrade always seems to working well.
After trying almost every tip I could find of resetting the router I don't know what to do.
It seems that some things resist in the nvram, and the Ip's are very curious for me.
THX a lot for any suggestions to bring it back to life
P.S. some time before it crashed I created a vlan for port 4, but that worked well, dosen't know if it is important.
