Hi,

I have the wl-500g for a week or two now. I like it for the specs but as usual somethings don't seem to work.

I'm trying to make some nice firewall rules for the network and for the LAN->WAN and WAN->LAN it seem to work fine. But when i'm going to make WLAN->WAN or WLAN->LAN and LAN->WLAN or WAN->WLAN rules it doesn't seem to matter what i'm doing. I have the WLAN firewall enabled so the WLAN network has an own ip-network. The problem is that I still can do everything I want to, which shouldn't be possible thanks to the rules. Also I noticed that when I disabled the WLAN firewall and want to open a telnet port (which should be blokked in the LAN->WAN rules) it just go out and is stopped by the WAN->LAN rules. So it seems like everything with the WLAN just passes all of my rules.

I hope one of you can tell me an solution because I can find very little about the firewall of the wl-500g and when I do it's about the LAN and WAN firewall :(

B.t.w. I have the 1.7.5.6 firmware from the asus site. All the filters are enabled and logging for WLAN is on BOTH which doesn't show a thing.

Asus 1.7.5.6 firmwares has a bug, which resets DMZ (WLAN) zone seetings once a valid WAN IP address receieved. 1.7.5.9 contains the same bug.

Hmm, not the answer I was hoping for ;) But thanks anyway :)

I downgraded the firmware to 1.6.5.3 which seem to does the trick. The firewalls are more important to me than the rest of the functions.
