View Full Version : Can't connect to network

Something very strange: With my laptop I can't connect to my network, whether I use the wireless (wl100g) card or the network card. I have 2 other desktops, they can connect without problem (both connected through network cards).
I've been trying a lot of things. My guest account is set, I made the right users, I've shared folders etc etc. But nothing seems to work.
The strange thing is that I can ping from my laptop to the desktops. The ip are set by dhcp (is it necessary to set the dhcp for wireless, or is that just to make another range?). So the range and format are the same on all the computers.
Can you please help me? It did work for some time, but I don't know what I changed that made things worse. By the way I'm using XP on the laptop and one desktop. The other one contains 2K.
Edit: the problem occurs with several release versions. I am using CR5 at this time.

Your laptop probably has ip filtering/firewall enabled. Check TCP/IP settings.

Oleg: Thanks for your reply. I've checked my TCP/IP filtering isn't even turned on. I also haven't turned the XP firewall on. Do you have any more hints?
