I'm a WL-500GX noob and I have something really want to know before I upgrade it's firmware.

1. What version is the most up-to-date Oleg WL-500GX image?

2. Why do I need to update the bootloader of WL-500GX? Will the device unable to use these 16M memory which are not enabled for bootloader?

3. Does all official firmware or firmware that download from Asus web site does not have the telnet function?

4. Where can I download the most up-to-date Oleg WL-500GX firmware?

5. What MTU size work best with WL-500GX?

I know my question is stupid but please help me, I really need to know these things before I do anything on my router.:)

Preffered is PMTU discovery (auto).
Manually - 1500/1492 depending on your connection type.
