Hello all,

First off I'll give some back ground of what I am trying to do. At the moment I am bridging my Wl500g with a friends Belkins router. It works okay but the signal seems to drop off every now and then.

So the conclusion I've come to is to get an outdoor antenna and connect that to my WL500g. I picked an antenna (http://www.wirelesspro.co.uk/store/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=9) out after looking around for a bit.

It says that it has a "Male N-Type" connection and I've read here that the WL500g has a "Femal Reverse SMA" connection. So if I want to connect them do I need to get a "Female N-Type to Male Reverse SMA" connector?

Thanks a lot!

Jep

Male N are the big connectors often used on antennas, you will need this adapter called a "pigtail", look at google or buy at ebay. And maybe a bit of cable with two apropriate n plugs as pigtails are natural very short adapters only. Keep in mind that kables make a big signal los for wlan signals so keep it as short as possible, not more then 3 meters or you will loss all gain produced by the antenna. The shop has an sql error, i hope you bought a direktion antenna, not one of these 360° ones they wount help you much.

Great thanks.

I'm guessing I can just get a connector it rather than a pigtail?

They have one on the same site here (http://www.wirelesspro.co.uk/store/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=350). Its cheaper than a pig tail and I guess the loss would be less from it.

Incase there is a problem with a page here is a link to the picture: N-Type Male to SMA Female Adapter (http://www.wirelesspro.co.uk/store/catalog/images/LMR%20195%20N-male%20to%20SMA%20adapter.jpg)

For some reason I fidn it confusing lol :)
