Hi,
I have connected the wl-500gx to my pppoe connection and the internet now works extremely slow. FTP connection takes > 30s and http pages don't even load.
When I use my old canyon router and then connect one of lan ports of canyon to asus wan it works as fast, as it should.
Maybe I use the wrong settings? Are MTU and MRY relevant to the speed I get?

Thanks
Dennis

Check your DNS settings.

The DNS is set to auto-detect and the IPs look correct to me. Anything else might be causing the problem?

Try using tcpdump to find out the reason.

It says, that some packets are rejected, and explains which ones, one time it was.
So this means, that you are sure, that the pppoe handling in your firmware is 100% ok, and all this happens because of misconig, or is there some problem with pppoe that you are aware about?

Personally I use PPPoE with no problems, as well as number of other users on this forum. So, guess my answer. :)

Yes, guess I should try to change the settings to fix it, btw what is a pppoe relay? Is it necessary? And how does MRU affect pppoe?

pppoe-relay is not needed for wl500g to work with pppoe. As for MRU - check this: http://wl500g.info/showthread.php?t=1920

Thanks for the info, so MRU is responsible for the speeds. Ok, I will be tweaking it then.

No, it does not.

hmm, I don't have an idea why is it so slow then.

I had that problem too, I called my Isp (Casema/Wanadoo) and they told me WAN Connection Speed has to be "10Mbps half-duplex" or else the connection was slow.

So I changed the WAN Connection Speed and it worked (don't know why, but it worked).

So try to change WAN Connection Speed (on the WAN-settings page) and find the right option.

*sorry for my bad english*
