hi
hi i have oleg firmware
at fisrt how can I restrict range of assigned ip addresses if I disabled dhcp.
is ip pool just for dhcp ? because I set up ip pool from 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.20 and disabled dhcp. I thought wenn I use ip address 192.168.1.21 on my windows machine I cannot access to the network but it is not true because I can even connect to the internet
How can I accomplish that I determine range of ip addresses and wenn someone wants to use a ip address out of the my range on his laptop it wont work.

second qustion is
how can I accomplish if i enable dhcp server and assign manually mac and ip adresses that wenn someone connect to the network it will have assigned him automatic the ip address that I assigned manually to him on router.

I noticed that I can assign manually to the ip and the mac adresses also a host name. I did it but I couldnt connect to the computer with that host name under windows \\example

thank you :)

not sure which version of oleg you're running...

in the newest version it is possible to manually assign ips with hostnames in the "IP Config - DHCP Server" menu. Be sure to check enable manual assignment.

and yes, the ip pool start and end is just for the dhcp server.
To restrict the allowed ip's you would have to use iptables or the web-admin firewall.
