Hi,

I use a WL-Asus 500gx router (1.9.2.7-5) with a usb harddisk, windows xp and a dbox2 for streaming at the usb hd via the router. When I test my performance I get the following results:

8192, 8192: 7111, 6320
16384, 16384: 7876, 5171
32768, 32768: 8000, 1689
8192, 16384: 7529, 6095
16384, 32768: 8126, 5278

I mount the device /tmp/harddisk/ with 'rw,async,no_root_squash'. The 'Wan Conncection Speed' is at 'auto negotation' (every other let get the speed down). The network card in my pc is using 100 half duplex.

Is there any posibilities to get a faster transfer rate?

Thank you for helping me.

Yours,
Hannes

8192, 8192: 7111, 6320

8192, 16384: 7529, 6095
16384, 32768: 8126, 5278
These figures mean nothing to me. Please explain what they are and how you got them.

You might want to search some more on this forum because the performance of the WL-500gx has been discussed before. It is a poor performer.

Hi,
It means the following:

8192, 8192 are my mount option rsize=8192,wsize=8192. Futher options are nolock and rw,soft, udp. As result of reading and writing I get 7111 and 6320 after the test.

I tried to get more infromation about a better performance. But I get no result. Perhaps you have a idea at which word I should search.

Thanks,
Hannes
