Hi

I'm having problems with my scanner and Oleg's firmware. It is a multifunction Canon MP160 scanner/printer, that worked perfectly with Asus 3.0.4.4 firmware, so I was expecting that it would also work with Oleg's firmware... it doesn't :(

Printing works, but scanning doesn't. MP Navigation software reports that it cannot communicate with scanner. I'm aware that xsane frontend can be used, but that would mean wasting all the features of Canon's software (namely OCR).

So my question is: since the scanner worked with Asus 3.0.4.4 firmware, should it work also with oleg's firmware?

Thanks in advance for any help.

it could work...
but for that you need to rip the asus firmware from it's MP server and put it in olegs.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Ripping firmware sounds pretty advanced to me :o Is there any way to provide direct access to the router's usb port? Something like

http://www.usb-server.com/

Best,

Best,

nah, that usb server is not compatible for our routers.
Some people worked on an opensource version of this, but it's not quite finished, nor the windows application is quite finished.
it might be easier to dive into the code from asus... now lets hope their drivers are open source as well:p
