Hi,

Have just installed a new rt-n16 with 1.9.2.7-rtn-r1704 and I do have one problem. Print to the HP Deskjet 990Cxi USB printer does not work.

The router can identify the printer:

usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 2
ehci_hcd 0000:00:04.1: USB 0.0 started, EHCI 1.00, driver 10 Dec 2004
usb usb2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
hub 2-0:1.0: USB hub found
hub 2-0:1.0: 2 ports detected
usb 2-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2
usb 2-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
usbcore: registered new interface driver usblp
usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 3
usb 1-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 3 if 0 alt 0 proto 2 vid 0x03F0 pid 0x3304
drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: usblp0 Device ID string [188]='MFG:HEWLETT-PACKARD;MDL:DESKJET 990C;CMD:MLC,PCL,PML;CLS:PRINTER;DES:Hewlett-Packard DeskJet 990C;SN:ES19K180DSLG;S:00808080800010032C1000000C2 000000;P:0800,FL,B0;J: ;'

the printer daemons are running:

ps | egrep "lpd|p9100d"
288 admin 844 S lpd
290 admin 736 S p9100d -f /dev/lp0 0

and my pc's have been configured to use port 515, LPR and LPRServer.

The same setting on the pc side did work fine on my old wl500gp.

Somebody who can help ?

Br

Flemming

Hi, under ubuntu I had to use printing to a socket instead of printing to a lp queu. Recipe: on each linux box I browse to the Cups frontend at 127.0.0.1:631 and than add a printer through the menu. I use the socket to print to with the IP address of the router without stating a port or a queu name.

For windows see: http://oleg.wl500g.info/printing/
