Hi there,
I have a couple of questions:
I own a Asus WL-500g deluxe. Know I would like to strengthen the wireless
network, would a wl-330g be allright to use ?
And if I buy it ? Can I just plug it in to a power socket and the wireless
network will be stronger. Or does the 330g also need a ethernet cable ?
Also if I turn on the afterburner on my 500g do I need special wireless
network cards ?
Thanks for helping,
Cheers,
Chris

Anyone have an answer ?
it is supposed to work, but not out of box as you have to configure the devices first
i don't know the price difference but otherwise you would be safe by buying a second wl500g (deluxe)
the WL-330g does not support afterburner
and yes you need an afterburner capable card to use this technique e.g. WL100g Deluxe, and some newer WL100g, and Linksys Speedbooster products

oké thanks :)
But at the moment I am not using a afterburner capable card.
So just plugging a wl330g in to a power point (and off course setting it up) should strengthen the wireless network ? So I won't need to plug an Ethernet cable in to the 330g ?
thanks again,
Chris

I don't know if you did manage with your choice (hope you did :D ) but i use a wl500g and just bought a wl330g.
First i won't exchange my wl330 for any wl500 !
I use it as an ethernet point for my console, and also like now in AP to extend the wireless for my laptop.
- the wl330g stores the 2 config (ethernet or AP) & just a button to switch.
- it is small and nice white :)
- once configured (with RJ45 connector & PC) just plug it to power and this is it.
I don't know if i will try afterburner because i use work laptop and it uses intel beurk card that can't automatically connect to AP but well .....

afaik Afterburner doesn't work in WDS at all.
