I'm assuming that web-server is a typo, cause there is plenty of info on that.

Mail server however I haven't seen so much about.

But there is fetchmail in the unslung packages:

Package: fetchmail Version: 6.2.5-5
Depends: openssl
Section: util
Architecture: mipsel
Maintainer: Matthias Appel <private_tweety@gmx.net>
MD5Sum: 8b3646ec9e8e4e1e7985c2d418f36bed
Size: 167035
Filename: fetchmail_6.2.5-5_mipsel.ipk
Source: http://catb.org/~esr/fetchmail/fetchmail-6.2.5.tar.gz
Description: A remote mail retrieval and forwarding utility

Haven't seen if anyone has tested it, and don't know what it's about, but it's a place to start!

I've corrected this.

See below for an excerpt form the 'fetchmail' documentation:

G1. What is fetchmail and why should I bother?
Fetchmail is a one-stop solution to the remote mail retrieval problem for Unix machines, quite useful to anyone with an intermittent PPP or SLIP connection to a remote mailserver. It can collect mail using any variant of POP or IMAP and forwards via port 25 to the local SMTP listener, enabling all the normal forwarding/filtering/aliasing mechanisms that would apply to local mail or mail arriving via a full-time TCP/IP connection.

So if i read correctly this is not what i'm searching for. Thus the quest for the holy mail-server is still ongoing ;)

Hello Ikke_ook,

Did you get the mailserver working? I like to make working on the Asus WL500g as well. Can you advice me about it?

Thanks in advance,
