My dream is to plug a USB web cam and sound card to the router to be able to make SKYPE calls just from the router. Any idea about running "small" SKYPE there (or any other software able to stream voice and pictures..)?

I was just thinking the same thing, but it would be great if the SKYPE USB to RJ11 adaptor ( http://www.voip-city.com/displayProductDocument.hg?productId=3&categoryId=1 ) or Dontronics PhoneConnector ( http://www.dontronics.com/phoneconnector.html ) worked with linux.

next generation mobile phones (motorola) will be able to use wifi to make internet phone calls.

I'm somewhat skeptical if Skype would run on the WL-500g. I only use Skype occationally, but it seems moderately CPU intensive.

If you just want a VoIP-in-a-box solution, there are plenty to choose from. I don't know any that works with Skype, though.
