Hello.
Please how make this (http://computershopper.com/best-prices/product/33314797/audio-components/Creative-Labs-Sound-Blaster-X-Fi-Surround-5.1-External-USB-Sound-Card/availability) hardware working with Asus Wl-500gPV2 and Oleg firmware ?

In dmesg i have this:

hub.c: new USB device 00:03.1-1.1, assigned address 4
usb.c: not enough configurations
usb.c: unable to get device 4 configuration (error=-22)
hub.c: new USB device 00:03.1-1.1, assigned address 5
usb.c: not enough configurations
usb.c: unable to get device 5 configuration (error=-22)

Exist ipkg package with driver for x-fi soundcards ?
Sorry for my creepy english :)

I don't think there is linux drivers support for creative x-fi sound card in 2.6.24 kernel..

you could try to compile alsa drivers, but there aren't any for this usb x-fi
too bad

I think you don't need any special drivers. My WL500gP works fine with the same soundcard. I play MP3 on it. It uses native (generic) USB-sound drivers.

Try to install something what uses sound, for example "madplay". Then it may say you, what's wrong.

ipkg update
ipkg install madplay

(Or something like this.)

Thanks for help, but:

audio: /dev/dsp: No such file or directory

What you have installed next ? Or card works out of box ? You have this same model ?

Try to find, whether there is /dev/sound/dsp.

ls -laF /dev/sound

If OK, the problem is solved.

You can simply test communication: connect microphone and speakers to the soundcard. Then write:

cat /dev/sound/dsp > /dev/sound/dsp

This will redirect input of the soundard to output. You should hear signal from microphone in speakers (with a little delay).

dsp device not exist, this is the problem. Sound card is not detected, in dmesg i have this errors:

audio.c: v1.0.0:USB Audio Class driver
hub.c: new USB device 00:03.1-1.1, assigned address 13
usb.c: not enough configurations
usb.c: unable to get device 13 configuration (error=-22)
hub.c: new USB device 00:03.1-1.1, assigned address 14
usb.c: not enough configurations
usb.c: unable to get device 14 configuration (error=-22)

Something missing, driver or something else, i dont know ..

My dmesg is here, try to comapre. I have flashdisk connected to lower USB and X-fi to higher USB. The log tells about sound-device on more places. My router is WL500g Premium.

do you have it directly connected to the router or on a usb hub?

Yes, directly. No usb hub, just external hdd and external sound card, directly to the router.
