issues flashing fw and ftp server questions

Hi all,

im having problems flashing from original 1.0.7.8 to kfurge: using the webclient, it uploads and shows tzhe updating screen and reboots but the fw in the system info still shows 1.0.7.8 and nothing has changed! using the desktop flash app wont work at all, it just gets stuck at "downloading to local subnet"

my 2nd problem is the build in ftp server of the or. firmware: how do i set up user accounts for it independently of the pass i use for the router? and how do i disable anon access?

you can set up useraccounts in the shares tab . You have to switch to password based access

Is custom firmaware installed ----- can you telnet to router the and for example set the hdd spindown then yes its installed
if you can't set the hdd spindown then Noits not correct installed


based on the writeing that you did I think its installed but not 100% sure of it
