I have a WL500G that I would like to hook up in client mode to a existing Linksys WAP54G (rock stable with AES) and so create network connections in other part of the house without cables ;-)
The WAP54G runs with WPA-TKIP/AES encryption, 54G mode only.
So basicly a "must" have for the WL-500G firmware is the following:
- Client mode with WPA-TKIP/AES support (is this supported?)
- WebCam support
- Power Output self adjustable.
- Stable 54g (only) connection
Now I tried many 1.7x 1.8x and 1.9x FW`s... I tried station mode... Ethernet Bridge etc etc etc.... but no luck whatsoever
I tried official Asus each time to start with and than upgrading to latest chupa fw in that range. It worked "once" with 1.8.1.7 and than the AP started doing funny and died. Although I upgraded with factory default/reset procedure maybe something got stuck... finally a TFTP connection mentioned in this forum was able to reset the &!%#!@*& thing :-)
Anyone able to give me a tips or tried something like this themselves?
Am I too demanding wanting to do this with AES?
Kind Regards
