I have a 120gb external harddrive connected to the wl-500g usb port. NO problems at all to open it from my laptop from the WAN. But my friends from "the outside" are lot allowed to open the ftp-server. Someone who has got some tips whats wrong? Have tried to deactivate the wl-500g firewall, didn't help. tried to open port 20:21 in the virual server list. I have a adsl modem without router, connected to wl-500g, ppoe connection. Some-one knows whats wrong with my setup?

Please post your firmware revision and search the forum. There have been more people reporting this problem, and they all got an answer.

Probably you have one of those firmwares with missing iptables rules.

I have the 1.9.2.7 firmware. Can someone tell me how to fix the iptable rules?

Hmm, you can connect to your FTP server from WAN but others don't?! Thats weird...do you mean you can connect from LAN and WLAN but not from WAN?

No problems to log on the ftp-server from my local network, but outside from the internet: not allowed

tthen, please post the output for this commands (via hidden admin page):

iptables -L -vn
iptables -t nat -L -vn

And be sure, that your ISP does not filter out incoming ftp traffic.
