I was searching through the forums and didn't find a good answer. Mostly the answers I found were:
"It is labeled on the box and the unit itself..."
So how can I recognize that I have ASUS w500g Premium v1 or v2? How do I know it is version 1 or version 2 before flashing a new firmware? How do you tell w500g Premium v1 from v2?
Simple, use the hidden system command page:
http://192.168.1.1/Main_AdmStatus_Content.asp
and type in:
cat /proc/cpuinfo
Now you have two types of output:
1)
WL-500g Premium (WL-500gp) BCM4704/BCM4780 264MHz
2)
WL-500g Premium V2 (WL-500gpv2) BCM5354 240MHz
