Hey guys, this is my first post here and I have just had my Asus router for a couple of weeks.

I am running oleg 1.9.2.7-10 on a V2 version and are experiencing extremely slow internet connection on it. I have a 10mbit down / 1mbit up connection but get only 1-5-2.5mbit using the router (tested through speedtest.net), if I connect the computer straight to the modem I get the speed I should get.

I have basically followed the HOWTO's on this site and macsat's site and have
FTP, lighthttpd, rtorrent (installed but not running) running.

running 'top' on a fresh boot this is the status:
Cpu(s): 1.4% user, 4.0% system, 0.0% nice, 94.5% idle
Mem: 30164k total, 25416k used, 4748k free, 2600k buffers
Swap: 506008k total, 0k used, 506008k free, 13884k cached

'uptime'
01:02:42 up 9 min, 0 users, load average: 0.04, 0.03, 0.00

What could be causing this slowdown? Seems to get worse and worse the longer its on. I've seen a similar post on the forum but no on had any resolution for it. I told my friend that was the one that got me to buy one and he is experiencing the same thing, but he is running a V1.

Experts, please help. :)

Cheers

it doesnt matter how mutch cpu is in use, the switch is just an independent part, so it doesn't affect the speed.

did you do a complete factory default after flashing to olegs firmware?
and what is the result if you use the asus fw?

I just thought I add as much info as I could. I can see a lot of CPU usage causing issues, but that's not the case here.

I flashed oleg firmware straight out of the box when I got it. I never tried running the original firmware. I did not do any setups before the firmware upgrade so it was in its default state.

There seems to be something going on with my ISP atm. I am getting ~1mbit download speed when I am paying for 10mbit. I will keep you guys updated.

The culprit was my ISP, when I tested myself I had tons of issues with slow speed and of course when the technician was there it was sort of working. The ISP issue was fixed and now I actually get 20Mbit download speed. :)
