Help, i have just changed from a D-Link wireless router to a Asus WL-500gP Wireless router, the firmware has been updated to the latest version, and it is plugged into a Thompson 536 ADSL Modem. and my laptop is running Vista.
But no matter what i do, i cannot get it to connect to the internet. i have tried everything i can think of but i dont have a great understanding of network protocols. can some please help me get this router connected to the internet.:confused::(

we need some more information... otherwise it could be everything...
can you ping your router at 192.168.1.1?
Do you get an IP at all from your router?
Do you use a pppoe connection and did you set username / pw for your ISP?

you could take a look in the manual as well its not that bad after all.

If you set the wl500gp in accesspoint mode (AP mode) via the webinterface it should make thing a bit easier.

If you configure 'gateway' and 'dns' properly you should get the expected results...
