I just bought an Asus WL-500g Premium, on which I intend to run Tomato firmware. All the tutorials I have found suggest that the easiest way to flash the firmware is to use the Asus firmware tool, which only runs on Windows, however. But there must be a way that I can flash the firmware from my Mac, right?

(Or alternatively, from Ubuntu, which I use too. I'm rather new to the Linux thing, but know how to use the terminal if instructed properly...)

Okay, so now I've tried flashing Tomato via TFTP. I've put the router in diag mode, and it responds to pings. But when I try to put the tomato.trx file, I get the following error message in the terminal:

"tftp: tomato.trx: No such file or directory."

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

cd /path/to/folder/contains/firmware
tftp 192.168.1.1
mode binary
put firmware_file.trx

And always repeat "Hare Krishna" =)
