View Full Version : Getting my webserver to work
Hi everyone.
I recently upgraded to the latest oleg firmware, and since then i cant get my webserver to work (To be clear, my webserver in NOT on the busybox, its a real server)
The ip of my webserver is 192.168.1.6 so i thought i would just set port 80 to redirect it to the server in the virtual server section, so it would look like this :
port range: 80 Local IP: 192.168.1.6 Local Port: 80 Protocol: TCP protocol number: 80
This however doenst work. I also try'd just to trigger port 80 but no succes. On my lan the server works fine and has been working fine for internet untill i upgraded.
Its probably a very dumb fault but can anyone tell me wat i'm doing wrong here ?
thx
Bass
Your Protocol number is wrong.
Forwarding port 80 is correct. Selecting the proper protocol should fix it, which is AFAIK: HTTP (I'm not sure, I don't have the router near).
I did, this means that the port number and tcp protocol are already filled in. It doesnt work though.
does anyone know ?

just set as virtual server:
port range: 80
local ip: 192.168.1.6
local port: LEAVE EMPTY
protocol: both
protocol no.: LEAVE EMPTY
It still doesnt work :(
Does it maybe have to do with the fact that im using an oleg firmware ?

no, i'm using 1.9.2.7-3b
perhaps you are behind a adsl router or something, or your provider blocks port 80
especially note YOU can not reach port 80 from your WAN port, you have to ask someone on another internet connection to test it
Perhaps you should check (and post) routing tables of router and modem.
If it's a public server (or just set up a simple page for testing) you may post your IP here so someone else can check from the outside. [EDIT] Antiloop already suggested this
Perhaps this post is also helpful: http://wl500g.info/showthread.php?t=1457
My wl500g is connected to my adsl modem (speedtouch home, not flashed) wich connects to my provider planet.nl. I'm sure this must all be ok because it used to work before my firmware upgrade.
I am testing this all via the adsl connection of my neighbour (but dont tell him that) so all my try's are "from the outside". Usually when i try'd to connect from the lan i would allways get the routers adminpages. (But i used my .hosts file to workaround that problem)
the server is ment for public use, so here: http://145.53.0.177/ or http://www.baskoole.com/
btw pinging to my router works fine (from outside)
edit: now is weird for a n00b like me:
the status and log -port forwarding page says the following:
Destination Proto. Port Range Redirect to
145.53.0.177 TCP 80 192.168.1.6
145.53.0.177 UDP 80 192.168.1.6
145.53.0.177 TCP 80 192.168.1.6
145.53.0.177 TCP 21986 192.168.1.164
145.53.0.177 TCP 8000 192.168.1.168
145.53.0.177 TCP 6571 192.168.1.168
145.53.0.177 TCP 443 192.168.1.168
145.53.0.177 TCP 80 192.168.1.168
where the hell did that 192.168.1.168 come from ?
The routing table doesnt mention my server at all, and i dont know how to get the routing tables of my modem (home version, no adminpages).
Does nobody have any clue whats going on with my router ? :(
Sorry i cant but hope somebody will be able to help.
I must be getting old. Not a n00b to pc's but have kind of the same problem. I've been on this forum many times and have gotten my connection up and running with the speedtouch pro and the asus but now my ftp server can't be reached. I hope that if you get the webserver running the same will work for me and my ftp server.

This seems to be one of your PC manipulating router using UPnP. Reset router to defaults and disable UPnP.
