hi everybody,

i just got a wl700, and i want to use it not as router but as nas and webserver.
i use a fritz-box 7170 as router and, just as i told, the wl700 as nas.

how can i get access to the 8081 port of the wl700, as i forwarded the port 80 to port 8081 to the wl700 already?
i want to move my web-server from my old wl-hdd to the wl700.

with my wl-hdd the forwarding worked correctly in my fritz-box.

my wl700 still uses original firmware and is connected via lan3 to my fritzbox.
it is no problem to use the port 8081 in "intranet", but not possible to reach it from wan via port-forwarding.

can anybody help me?

Hi,

probably this is a general routing problem (because you can access the port from "inside" but not from "outside"). It could be possibe, that the WL700 has no default router configured. So, the WL700 don't know where to send the answer packets (to the outside PC, which has an internet IP).

I had a similar problem. I use two WL700 in my LAN, one is the master, one the slave. The slave has only a LAN connection (no WAN). Therfore I had to configure the default router in the slave. Due to I use the custom firmware I have added the following line to the rc.local:

route add default gw <IP address of the router>

But I don't know, if there is a configuration item in WL700's web based management for setting a default router for LAN side?

thank you for your immediate answer:
i found it: setting the router to ap instead of gateway solves the problem.

it works, and quite faster than the old wl-hdd
